Redesigning the RE/MAX Real Estate Digital Franchise in Portugal

RE/MAX Portugal, a real estate brokerage firm with two million visits per month, needed a complete redesign of their digital assets. The challenge was to transition a huge amount of existing content from the previous website version. The goal was to define an intentional and user-centric experience, with a focus on their agents who would be using the platform daily to publish content for their clients.

Approach

Miew developed a collaborative process, working with Devscope to fix critical structural issues on the portal. A core part of the approach was implementing a design system from the beginning, which allowed Miew to make incremental changes as the product was being developed and to scale up the design assets. The way Miew collaborated with Devscope during the handoff stage was key to the project's success, as a prototype development approach was used to test real components and make strong decisions with A/B testing.

1Analysis

To define the ideal experience, Miew conducted a collaborative process using surveys, live client assessment sessions, as well as Hotjar and Google Analytics to understand the existing performance and pain points of the website. These insights were crucial to the decision-making process that resulted in a reliable and fast product.

2Proof of Concept

Miew's team used a prototype development approach to test real components. We validated assumptions with A/B testing.

3Minimum Viable Product

By having a design system in place from the start, we were able to make incremental changes. Following a robust design system, we built a functional MVP that addressed critical structural issues.

4Launch

The launch of the new RE/MAX Portugal website was a success, winning a Product of the Year award from Produto do Ano.

5Learn

The focus remains on the agents who use the platform in real time with their clients. The product continues to be refined based on data, ensuring it remains reliable and fast for both the agents and their clients.

Results

The redesign led to remarkable performance improvements, earning the project a prestigious Product of the Year award. Following the update, visits increased by 14%, reaching an impressive 2.3 million per month, while page views rose by 44%. The site’s speed saw a drastic boost, greatly enhancing user satisfaction and engagement. Additionally, mobile users enjoyed significantly longer session times, reflecting a stronger and more consistent mobile experience. The success was supported by the creation of a complete, scalable design system that ensured visual consistency and efficient future development.
